JPMorgan Chase & Co. is preparing to take a full office floor at 2400 Market Street in Philadelphia.
The banking giant is expected to sublease the building’s entire 63,000-square-foot fifth floor from Aramark.
Aramark plans to vacate the fifth floor while maintaining its remaining space at the property.
For JPMorgan, the move could support a broader consolidation of its Philadelphia office footprint.
Earlier this year, the company announced a similar strategy for its corporate operations in Boston. At the time, JPMorgan identified Philadelphia among several markets targeted for consolidation.
The strategy also includes Atlanta, Miami, Toronto, West Palm Beach, and several West Coast markets.
Rather than simply reducing space, corporate occupiers are increasingly consolidating employees into fewer locations. This approach can improve collaboration while creating greater operational efficiency.
Additionally, the potential transaction would bring another major financial institution to 2400 Market Street.
The property has attracted several prominent corporate users since its redevelopment. Its location provides convenient access to Center City, University City, and major transportation connections.
JPMorgan’s anticipated move also reflects continued activity among large office users in Philadelphia. However, companies remain selective about where and how they occupy space.
As corporate real estate strategies evolve, consolidation deals could continue shaping Philadelphia’s office leasing market.
